There are plenty of ways to spend your free time here.

Explore the historic centre of Skalica and its unique Romanesque Rotunda of St George from the 12th century, visit the Záhorie Museum, or head to nearby Holíč to see Maria Theresa's manor house with its herb and flower gardens and ancient stone megaliths.

The villa sits right on the Záhorie Wine Route: the nearest renowned winery is just 30 metres away, with many more close by. The legendary Skalica trdelník is baked 700 m from the villa.

Golfers can play to their heart's content: the golf resort is on the same street. A cycle path runs right past the villa into the wider region. Take a trip to the Zlatnícka valley (6 km) and taste excellent local sheep's cheese at the upper sheep farm.

For the adventurous, the Baťa Canal is 3.5 km away. Children can come along too as you sail the branches of the Morava river all the way into the Czech Republic. Horse lovers can try riding at the stud farm in nearby Kopčany.
